Four years and three court cases later the ' High Council ' ( supreme Dutch court ) gave their verdict on the court battle between UK Company Castaway and Endemol over the originality of the Big Brother TV Series concept.
In 1999 John De Mol was accused of stealing the idea of Big Brother from Castaway, the company who invented the TV show Survive!
Survive! is staged on a desert island, under the name ' Expedition Robinson ' in Scandanavia and ' Survivor' in the USA.
The Dutch court said it wasn't going to take Castaways complaint against Endemol into consideration.
